Bra Fitting Guide

How a Properly Sized Bra Should Fit

A well-fitting bra has a properly sized band that stays in place without riding up in the back. A snug band in the right size also helps reduce strain on your shoulders. Cups in the right size fully cover your breasts without spilling over at the front or sides. Above all, a well-fitting bra feels comfortable to wear. You know you’ve found the right style when you don’t have to adjust it throughout the day: it stays in place so well that you barely notice you’re wearing it.

How to Measure Your Bra Size

  1. Start by measuring under your bust. The measuring tape should be as snug as possible, since the bra stretches but the tape does not.
  2. Measure around your bust. For the most accurate measurement, wear a bra and measure around the fullest part of your bust.
  3. Find your band size. Check your underbust measurement in the table below. For example, if your measurement is 87 cm, your band size is 85.
  4. Find your cup size. The difference between the two measurements determines your cup letter. For example, if your underbust measurement is 87 cm and your bust measurement is 108 cm, the difference is 21 cm (108 cm - 87 cm = 21 cm). Check the table below to find the cup letter that corresponds to the difference between your measurements.

How to get the right fit: Remember these 7 tips

  1. Choose a bra that suits your intended use.
  2. When trying on a bra, make sure it is fastened on the outermost, loosest hooks.
  3. Adjust the straps for a comfortable fit. Keep in mind that overtightening the straps won’t help, as the band provides most of the support.
  4. The bra band should sit level all the way around and not ride up in the back. It should fit snugly to provide the best support.
  5. Make sure the underwires sit firmly against your body beneath your breasts.
  6. Make sure the cups lie against your skin without any gaping or spilling over.
  7. Try the bra on under a shirt, too. This will show you the shape it creates and help you make sure the cups are the right size.

Swimsuit Sizing

A good swimsuit fits well, looks beautiful, and, above all, is the right size. Our selection includes one-piece swimsuits as well as two-piece swimwear: bikinis and tankinis. Our high-quality swimsuits are perfect for both the pool and the beach.
It's important to choose the right size. When trying on a swimsuit, it should feel snug, as the material may stretch slightly when wet. As a rule, our swimsuits hold their shape well, although this depends on how often you wear them.

Choose your swimsuit size based on your clothing size. Be sure to consider your torso length: if you are tall, choose a larger size. PrimaDonna Swim one-piece swimsuits are an exception, as they are labeled with bra sizes, such as 85C. All our swimsuits also come in cup sizes to ensure a good fit around the bust and the best possible support. Your swimsuit cup size doesn't necessarily need to be the same as your bra cup size, as a smaller cup size is often sufficient.
For bikinis and tankinis, you can generally choose your usual bra size. Bikini bottoms should fit snugly, as the material will stretch slightly when wet. If you're between sizes, choose the smaller one.
